A couple pics, female gravid?

ileventhal May 29, 2008 03:36 PM

Since I've had these in my possession, I've observed no copulation or the female displaying bright color markings, however she seems to noticeably be growing in her abdominal region and it's not uniform. The pics I took through the glass, but the 1st one shows more or less what I'm talking about.

I know she had been with a group of males (unfortunately) before I got this pair, so it's possible she could be gravid. What do you guys think?

She is looking quite ready, :0) the orangey (blush color can come in after, ) they all do things differently !

I think you will get eggs this season, I still say be patient, lol

Handsome guy too

If she is gravid I need to change some stuff around and get some moist sand in there, I just couldn't get a good grasp.

Thank you for the reply!

Can the breeding colors disappear before she lays her first clutch but after successful copulation?

This female has just in the last 4-5 days began to display the
orange bands. I was able to palpate eggs in her way before
she began to show even a hint of blush. So I have to agree
with Eve. They are all different during their reproductive
techniques. I didn't see any breeding but a couple of weeks
ago I would see the male seriously courting as I caught him
hanging on to her by the neck. So I'm assuming she was
bred as the blush began to appear and the egg shapes are
more and more obvious on her side/flank areas.

I agree, the name of the game is patience.
