Help! Something's wrong.

Our bearded dragon today became very lethargic. He's just lying in his tank with all four legs lying flat beside him and breathing very heavy and slow. I only see his left lung move when he breathes. He is typically all greyish but now his head is more yellow.
My husband thinks he's just shedding but when I touch him he doesn't even flinch.
Any advice?????

be nice to have a history and cage set up info on your dragon. Did it fall or something fall ontop of your dragon? What do you mean you only see it breath on one side? What changed since it was last active and non lathargic?

How old is the dragon?

He's just a few months old. Nothing fell. My husband did more research and thinks he's "impacted" from a cricket. Not much better this morning. He's not moving much when he tried last night he wobbled. My husband said a large cricket went into the feeder tube and before he could get it out of the tank Lightening ate that one...of course. His cage is only about 12-15 inches high I can't imagine him falling or even getting hurt if he did. He's about that long.

if he's close to 15" long, shouldn't have any problems with even the occasional adult cricket..best thing to do with possible to large prey, is make sure he is in his basking area, so he can get exposed to good basking temps to aid digestion. Probably good ideal to not feed him till he poo's next.

Sadly Lightening passed away today. He was eight inches long total, not the original posted 12-15. He did eat 1 cricket that was quite large before we could get him out. We never heard of "impacted" before researching his symptoms. Wish we knew. My little boy is pretty upset. We'll probably get another and learn from our mistakes. Thank you for your advice. Take care.

I am so sorry to hear that...we just lost one of our dragons yesterday...from a severe respiratory infection. Just for the future...someone once told me that a nice warm bath may help them if they are impacted. It helps to losen their bowel movements so they can pass whatever is hindering digestion.
Again...so sorry to hear about your loss!
