Long time no see!!! Whats new??

chris allen May 29, 2008 08:42 PM

Just curious how everything is in the world of bearded dragons these days? I have heard bits and pieces over the past few years that it has been pretty rough?

Its been a long time, probably just about 5 years now since I have been on here or had dragons, but I wanted to pop in and say Hello. I miss all the people that used to chat on here and on other boards. Hope everyone is doing great!

Ps, when I went to post this, there is a neat function now to ad a pic from your gallery(didnt even remember I had pics on here), so I added a couple pics and these were from my last season breeding.

The "famous"........thats funny, lol. I should tell my wife that. She would probably make fun of me though.

RMCADguy May 29, 2008 11:22 PM

Wow, very cool to hear from you after so long Chris. I never quite got the chance to get a dragon from you, quite the shame.

How have you been and what have you been doing with yourself now that you are free of dragons?

Oh my gosh! They are beautiful! Now see, when they get a little older they can help you!
Sinceriously, they are beautiful children. Congratulations!!!

Oh my gosh! I bought the best dragon I think I've ever owned from you in 2002. He's the basis of everything I have now. Between my husband and I thats upward of 100 dragons. If I can find a good picture of him I'll post him. Unfortunately he passed away last year. Good to see you on the forum. I don't post here much anymore. Just thought I'd check it out.
Take care,
Karen Barker,

Hi Karen....I do remember your name. Thats a heck of a lot of dragons! Are they all adults or is that 100 including babies right now?

barker109 May 30, 2008 04:20 PM

LOL!!!! No, that's adults. My husband is a fanatic and started collecting after I did. Fortunately, he's retired. What a food bill.....LOL!
Take care,
Karen

This is the only pic I can find. Not the best but it gives you an idea! Any thoughts of getting back into dragons???? Hows it feel to be a legend?
Take care,
Karen

Nice plump looking dragons. What crosses are they? The one on the right reminds me of the zilla/goldfroggy female I had. Here is a pic of her and daughters.

barker109 May 30, 2008 04:30 PM

Dead ringer for her mother, isn't she??? Bought directly from you in 2002. Really good foundation girl. Healthy as heck, huge babies. Never sick. What a gem!
Someday, when the time is right, you should really consider getting back into dragons. In the meantime you should visit the forum more often!!!!!!
Take care,
Karen

chris allen May 30, 2008 06:28 PM

She is a zilla/goldfroggy x redflame/sandfire? That was a great cross. Not screamers as far as color goes, but yet they had it all. Size, color, shape, genetics, and personality. For whatever reason that zilla/goldfroggy girl I had was like looking at another person. You knew she was watching you.

chris allen May 30, 2008 05:37 AM

Honestly, I really wish I could have stuck with the dragons and stayed with it. I miss the communication with all the people and the excitement of breeding/hatching/raising the dragons. It was always chaotic and busy, but cool as hell. It would be really tough to get back into it......but maybe one day, who knows.

midnight_962002 May 30, 2008 09:02 AM

You should get back into it. I still see people selling Chris Allen Reds x Whatever.

I would through a female your way for sure. That sounds bad. =)

medievaldragons Jun 12, 2008 06:07 PM

OFCOURSE A LEGEND. Everyone who breeds or collects, or studies dragons knows the name Chris Allen. I have a couple Chris Allen Reds and they are even more beautiful now than the day I bought them as little babies. My male, SHOGUN, is a killer breeder, and he has produced a few wonderful hypo trans babies. Thanks Chris and hope you do get back into dragons. I would definately donate to you coming back. I will donate a trans juvie, hypos, and an assortment of red, yellow babies if you are ever serious about getting back in.

dragonlove_nl May 30, 2008 11:02 AM

How weird, I just randomly got back on these forums after about the same hiatus to find your post here.

I still have my core dragons and thought about breeding again, but looks like Dental school is going to win out.
