First of all, thanks Lou for posting the pick for me. Lou and I have permits from TPWD to study the Reticulated collared lizard both in captivity and in the wild. We hope to learn more about the natural history and breeding of unique species.
The adult male was noosed from the car on Monday May 26th. A total of 8 retics were observed three adult males in full-breeding coloration and 5 yearlings or subadults. Conditions were between 98-100 degrees.
I noosed a younger yearling male for Lou. I plan to take some photos of him as well. He's going to Lou's house soon. Both Lou and I will be going out into the field again in the near future. Hoepfully, we can get more photos of these awesome animals in the wild to share with everyone.
