second generation or "type2" ghosts

daveb May 30, 2008 12:46 PM

I had a tremendous amount of fun for years working with ghost brooks. Even some of the double hets were the best looking brooksi I had ever seen. Right now I am curious what are other breeders doing with this trait? The original trait used Llemke axanthics and Beard hypos. I would be interested to know if any has used New England axanthics and/or flame hypos to produce double hets or actual ghosts. I would be interested to see if there is a difference in appearance between the two.

I think crimsonking's male is one of the best ghosts I have seen so far, from the Llemke/Beard lines.

Rainer, I remember you have the hypo het new england and new england het hypo- are you going to produce a ghost from that line?

How many people have the triple hets to produce a white sided ghost?

Anyone else doing anything unique with these genes?

piece,

Yes I have '07's from that pairing. As far as I know these are the first time a New England has been bred into a hypo.

I also bred the New England axanthic to the Peanut Butter and think that will make a more interesting animal than the ghost.

This year i bred the Jelly male to a new england female.

I am still wanting to breed a New England axanthic to a bone white hypo...mmmm.

Jelly x Ghost (hypo x axanthic x Peanut Butter x T negative albino)

Possibly.

I bred a Jelly to a het for WS x PB and got the pewter out of the breeding. Go figure .

So no telling. but somehow maybe the WS had axanthic mixed in to his line .

WOW the Llemke (het hypo) kills that NE, lol.

So far I have 14 eggs from the Tri het White Sided, Hypo, and Axanthic pair. Hoping for a second clutch too.

I have a Bone White Hypo that I am raiing with no plans as far as what to breed it to yet.

I am curious so see a Ghost with some Sulfur in the mix

I have seen pics of Rainer's bone white hypo, how's yours look?

I do not even have a shoebox available for another brooksi right now, hahaha. They will always hold a special place but right now 99% of the physical space is being chewed up by pits and drymarchon. I have been posting on this forum since '00 or so (and have met some real good folk because of it). If I keep talking about it I will eventually get back to them. It took me ten years of hot air to get a pair of indigos so hope is not lost.
I think I will do some locality field collecting in about 5 years just before the feds put them on the endangered list, lol. not really funny but probably true sooner or later.

If you have pics of your bone white hypo, I would love to see it.

If you get a ghost,( which I hope you do) it will be interesting to see what happens to the ghost.

I had one last year but it was dead in the egg. It did look different that any other ghosts that I've seen. It was the sibling to these guys.

Bluerosy May 30, 2008 10:17 PM

that is one awesome looking snake. Too bad so many people who don't know anything about Florida kings had to put it down because they can't beleive it is not a hybrid. Florida king morphs have come a long way in the last year.

Post a current pic of that snake soon

Oh and next time take pics of a dead in the egg brooks that is different.

dead-in-the-egg anery x T negative albino...a true snow:

Hopefully I will produce some of these this year. But I think I am going to call them Blizzards because the snow name is taken.
