2 Questions for the experts....

ajfreptiles May 30, 2008 03:32 PM

1.) What type of Corn snake is this? I tried to get better pics that show more key parts including eye color?

2.) I have a Snow Corn female and I am curious...what would the babies be, (Based on the guesses that are provided from question 1) provided that this yellow one turns out to be a male when I put them together?

Thanks Andy

theoretically..all babies would look normal and be het for amelanistic, anerythristic, caramel ,and hypo...quad hets....

more than likely there would be something the same homo and het between the 2 snakes nowadays......and you'd get some homo form of baby somethings....

looks amber to me???......

.......( haven't had them in years..LOL )......

I also agree that it looks to be an Amber Corn. As previously mentioned, you will get all normal looking offspring that are quad hets for hypo, anery, amel, and caramel...now that's ONLY PROVIDING that each parent isn't het for a trait the other is carrying, and going by "face-value" only.

When the quad het offspring are bred to each other, there will be a staggering 81 possible outcomes!....wow!
