Very cool Jeff!,....did you collect it, or are there laws against it in Va.?

No,I didn't keep it.In Va. you may keep up to 5 but,you can't breed them unless they're albino. If it's albino,no permit is required to breed and sale. Jeff
Ah!,...okay!,...I've heard of the "albino" law as well in some other states regarding their snakes.
I'm sure that's to help reassure the authorities that it's not an indigenous animal being taken from the wild.......unless of course you happen to stumble upon five albino's out in the wild!..LOL!

I assume the law is different for albinos because in the wild they are destined to become crow food.
Very nice Black by the way.

any pattern on him. If I saw one that black with no pattern it would be tough not to take him home with me. I love jet black snakes.

I opened my mouth and out flowed a melody black.
The black rats in this area are pretty much patternless as adults.I got a 5 footer out of the mother in laws' yard yesterday that was just as black.Sometimes when they puff up you can see faint remnants of a pattern. Jeff
Those are my favorites, I would have a dozen of them lol n/p

Impressive animal Jeff. The one I found today posted above had a bit more pattern then yours. Regardless, he was glossy black. Steve
