anery x motley?

saagbay May 30, 2008 07:27 PM

i was flipping through the classifieds and i saw a couple adds of motley 100% het albino, and motley het anery....

so my question is has anyone produced a anery motley?

and more for better understanding what type of genitic is the motley? so if there where a motley x anery breeding would you get any visual motleys, anerys, or motley anery? OR would they all be hets for either or both and you would need to line breed for visuals?

0.1 soon to be wifey (hopefully)
1.0 rotwiler/chow (Boomer-wifey's pooch)
1.0 norm corn (Jake aka grumpy old terdhead)
0.1 col redtail boa (Dixie-my baby girl)
0.1 ball python (Bella- wifey's baby girl)

hopeful for not to distant future:
--brazillian rainbow boas 1 female for sure
2 or 3? maybe a breeding pair?
-- bearded dragon for the wifey my list got to big...

As far as I know it hasn't been produced yet but I am sure it will probably happen this year.

Motley is a Co-Dominant mutation meaning Motley x Normal will produce 1/2 Motleys and 1/2 Normals.

Anery is recessive meaning when bred to a Normal will produce 100% het Anerys.

Motley het Anery x Anery would produce in theory 25% Anery Motleys 25% Motleys het Anery 25% Anery and 25% het Anery.

Once you get into breeding Motley het Anery x Motley het Anery percentages change but a Anery Super Motley should look pretty sweet.

To my knowledge it has not been done.
Not by Chris or by jeremy.

To answer your other questions Anery is a co- dom mutation so only one is needed however anery is not and one need a gene alle for anery from each of the parants!

Here are my 2 that will hopefully make me some anery mots in a few years!

......by a few that Frank Martin and Russ Lockenwitz (sp) both already have the Anery Motley on the ground from last season. If so I would love to see what it looks like as I have a female Poss Super Ghost currently gravid from a Hypo Motley Het Anery. Time will tell if it is a good litter, as of right now she is not looking too promising.
Frank?....Russ?.....Anyone??........

I believe on Chris Gilberts page it is listed as rumored...so who knows. If I were them I would have spilled the beans...Franks has Motleys het Anery so I would think he would have shown it to create more interest in the project.

Brandon,
I was also told that the Anery Motleys that have been produced are really not that nice and that there is not a huge difference between them and a normal Motley.
Ah, good old he said, she said rumor mill! LOL

Mike,

True, True...I will take it though...I would think it would have a bit of a lighter tone...oh well...I bet the Anery Super Motley would look super sweet though...
