have had zero problems with dehydration, just have a water bowl large enough for her to fit in 24-7 and u shouldn't worry. Also keep humidity between 50-75%. Also temp between 80-90. I do 90 becasue the hotter a snake is the better its defenses are against disease, mine almost had respiratory inflation so i put it up to 100 during the day for a week. Remember they are hardy snakes.
though that temp may seem excessive, field studies have measured temperatures in the lower 100s in burrows actually occupied by wild ball pythons in Africa! If offered as part of a gradient, it would probably do no harm, and might be of benefit-at least in a RI case!

I see no problems with 100 degree hot spots as long as they have a cooler spot to go to when they decide . A wide range, from a little to warm to a little to cool is best. As long as the enclosure is large enough to accomodate that type of range. It gives them choices to use or not, and they know best where they want to be.
Rita, I do have a problem with a snake that soaks 24/7 though. Either there's a hydration problem or the hide(s) aren't acceptable.
Just my thoughts.

Could definitely be mites!
