These 2 are listed as 66% het albino...

What do you think of these two snakes? Supposedly they are supposed to be 6 months old and 66% het albino. The seller says he got them from his breeder friend and has lost interest in keeping them until they are old enough to breed.

Score or not? The female is supposed to be the lighter colored one... To me she seems real light for a het albino... But im not sure... And the male.. Total apposite... He's so pale its not even funny.

There are no markers for het albinos and those are 66%,meaning IF they prove out they are hets and IF not then they normals .

is it me or do the snakes look older then 6 months? i may be wrong...

actually they look to be fairly small. I've had 1 month old hatchlings look bigger than they do. Also the one you say is faded looks to be in shed and by the looks of it, maybe it's even stuck by the looks.

Their color and pattern will have nothing to do with whether they are hets or not. If you feel comfortable with the seller and the price isn't much more than a pair of normals, then why not? If it were me I wouldn't count the male for more than $15.00 in the deal. You will probably want to sell him as a pet and get a 100% het male with paperwork from a breeder. You will be able to get 2008 male late this fall for a very reasonable price. Then hopefully in prove out the female in 2009 or 2010. It can be a long road when you start out with possible hets!

How much are you buying them for?

The reality is, 100% Het Albinos are pretty much affordable for anyone now adays. Why buy possible normals? Especially the male. If you buy a Het female, chances are, you will get a male Het for free. Take advantage of the soggy Ball market, and get animals from a breeder you trust, and get animals that WILL produce a morph. I can think of 0 reasons to buy Possible Normals in today's market, especially for Albinos.
