Confused Feeding time........

diggy415 May 31, 2008 04:36 PM

I fed my big gal of 7' a hairless rat for the first time, and you know how they nose it to test the fur direction, well she mouthed it mid section shoulder and then rear, starting eating the rear and the foot got caught on her tooth and she let go and started to probe with her mouth again and finally found the head, it was a challange, anyone else have this finding? I have the series of pictures if interested.

I've read that they aren't really looking for the fur direction, but are rather looking for the hardness of the head.
They nose around, squishing the body with their nose until they hit the head, sometimes they mistake the butt bones for the head during this and eat that way.
