I found this guy, photographed him, then released him in the same spot this morning. He was as mellow as he was beautiful. I fed him a couple fat worms as a reward for holding still for me.

Wow!! All I can say is Wow! What a beauty.

Someone posted a picture of a male from the Outer Banks of NC a year or two ago...all yellow. That turtle and this individual are in a close tie for the most amazing looking Eastern box turtles I've ever seen. I've seen hundreds, and that guy is an amazing find!!! Nice job letting him go. You have a strong will!

Strong will indeed! I would have been sorely tempted to keep him for the beautiful colors, but I would have hated myself for it. Great pics!

Maryland. There are a lot of pretty ones, and a great range of patterns and colors.
