Dishonest Seller Shady Business Practice

Heat May 31, 2008 11:50 PM

Has anyone ever had a seller back out of a written agreement and issue a refund without first informing you that they were going to back out?

A deposit was made, as per the seller's instructions. Emails from the buyer were never responded to, and now there is a pending PayPal refund.

How would you handle this situation?

It does sound shady...seems like the "seller" must have had a "better offer" and went with that instead of holding up his/her end of the agreement. Mike

I also say count your blessings---
There are a lot of people posting here and on the BOI about sending money and never getting the animal OR thier money---

I don't know how much the deposit was-- but at the very least, you got it back

Either way-- a total load of BS-- but it could be worse...

Hope it works out better next time.

1. If this is the way the person does business, be happy you are getting your money back. If the sale went through and there was a problem, your emails may have gone unanswered then too.

2. Something may have happened to the animal.....became sick or injured....and the seller doesn't want anyone to question his husbandry practices

3. As another poster mentioned, he may have received a better deal, maybe a friend wanted that snake, or just decided to hold it back.

With all of the scumbags that are in this world...be thankful you are getting a refund and move on.

I'd be thankful for the refund. If they aren't communicating, you wouldn't want to do business with them anyway.

at least they were honest enough to get your money back........you hope.....

..prices drop and are all different from seller to seller.........you can probably get one cheaper now ......?

and if you get your cash back your better off .......again...they could have ripped you off ......
