is that average size for BCI?
5' and nearly a yearling?
My yearlings were under 3', at 2 years now they are closing
in over the 3.5'. I have 2 4 yr olds, one is 6.5 (she was
heavily fed before I got her) and my other just passed 5', at
4 years of age. I do grow mine up a little slower than the
'norm' 1x7days, I usually go 1 feeding x 7-14 days
At 5' and not even one year old, that sounds like a boa that
was overfed and rushed. Is it very long and lean? (typically
boas pushed up so fast take longer to put on girth and weight)
I'm not trying to come down on you since by your post I don't
know if this is a general question...
5 feet for a boa in less than one year seems a bit much. I believe the average (at least for mine) is more like 3 feet. Power feeding to get them larger, quicker can impact their longevity.
It is possible it was mislabeled, that is why I am asking, it looks much the same. I have been feeding her rats, for three months, large rats every ten days this is not power feeding eh? I got her fresh from birth, watched her be born, my friend says its BCI but he's an idiot that accidently had baby boas. Last week i measured her, 58 inches.
