Dry - High Pressure - parts of night with no breeze - no nap during the day - only stayed out until just after midnight -
Observed on cuts:
1 checkered garter
1 Gulf Coast Toad
1 Barking Frog
Sorry, no pix. I would have taken pix of the Barking frog, but he retreated back into his hole really quickly.
The Barking Frog was the first I'd seen in such dry conditions so early in a given night - usually I see them when temps are approaching the dew point (like after 3 a.m.)
We also ran into a DPS officer who stopped while were observing the checkered garter. We showed him the snake and he said "oh, I thought you guys were having car trouble" and went on his way.
Can anyone verify a 377 snake (Carta Valley or eastward) since the 70s DOR that's at UTA?
