Common Musk Hatchlings!!!!!

jsherps Aug 31, 2003 11:32 PM

These guys just hatched out on friday night. They're currently sitting in deli cups absorbing the rest of their yolk sacs. They'll be moved into an aquatic setup once their yolk sacs are gone.....Well here's some pics...

Mud and musk are the neatest little guys to keep!
When I was a little kid I used to find hatchling common musks and three stripe muds in the canals around my house.
I still never get tired of seeing them.

One of my friends gave me some eggs they found on thier land this spring. They had uncovered them when mowing and din't know what to do. So I put them in my incubator not knowing what they were. All but one went bad. Most were cracked from the get go, but I thaught waht the heck!
Well to my suprise sat morning I found a hatchling in the box. I thought it may be a mud or musk as they are common around here. Your photos look just like the little guy.
Thanks for posting and congrats on the hatchlings
