what that could be, but I have a amel San Diego Gopher with with black spots in its eyes.... Same placement and position as yours, but black.
Doesnt seem to affect his sight at all....

Hmmm,.....that has me baffled, I'm not sure at all what to make of that.....very bizarre indeed!

It's strange not to see any pink/red from blood-flow within the eye as you typically would. It doesn't "seem" to be tissue growth that would "mask" the pink/red, as it seems very defined and sharp around the edges.

I'm wondering if it could possibly be a form of isolated leucism of sorts that is only affecting the iris for whatever reason?.........I guess we can only speculate on what that is..LOL!

best regards, ~Doug

though the other commenters have great points, i have to wonder, how old is it?? if its a new baby in the world, maybe all the pigment didnt get where it was supposed to be in time of hatching. Since pigment is one of the last things the cornsnake gets before hatching.......But if its an older baby and not new, maybe it has a lack of pigment cell that would be interesting to see as it matures....

Thankyou for your thoughts.

byron.d, yes iv seen black marks in albino eyes as well, im thinking this is something very different though.

DMong, your thoughts on isolated leucism was interesting, i had simular thoughts, something like Pied eyed.

STEVES_KIKI, he is only 2 days old so he may well change over the comming weeks, time will tell.

As an update , iv had a closer look at some of the other sibs that have hatched from this clutch, two more snakes have the same effect but on a much smaller scale, one has white lines and the other has small spots of white. their are also another 16 to hatch from this large 32 egg clutch.

Here are two more pic of the same snake.
