I am new at the ball python breeding world and I have done a lot of research. One of the best answers I can give you is from the January 2005 REPTILES magazine. It states that a male ball python must be separated from the females, rest and be offered food at least once a week. During the breeding season the male will choose breeding over resting and can affect his longterm health. It would be up to you to monitor his progress. I would recommend contacting experienced breeders to find the best suggestion.
