Paul as long as those temps are "fluctuating" you should run into no difficulties with them. I have hatched Northern Pines and all kinds of Rat snakes at temperatures fluctuating between 76 and 86 degrees on the shelf of my snake room. Colubrid's are not pythons and if anything it's more natural for your egg temps to fluctuate just like they would in nature. You think with no brooding behavior on the part of the mother Colubrid besides good placement eggs are not subject to variations in temps.
I would not suggest 86 as a constant temp, but if it hits this temp occasional you should have no trouble with your eggs.
>>Aubry,
>>These are just your run-of-the-mill Brook's (OK, I think they are beautiful). Hopefully the eggs are good (from the quick look I got they looked good but what do I know, I took some quick pics and will post them) and I don't mess up the incubation process. I've had the incubation chamber going for about a week and the temps have fluctuated between 80.2 and 85.6 and I'm a little worried about the high end. What were your temps for your Cal kings?
