Savanah Monitor

rodneysgoddess May 23, 2003 11:33 AM

About a week ago I was given a Savanah Monitor that looks like its on the verge of dying. It was rescued by a friend that found it in the alley of his apartments by the dumpsters. His tail looked "deflated" in the middle. Then a couple days later, about half its tail came off. It looks very thin. It also looks like its skin is kind of shedding all over the place. It has a six foot cabinet like housing unit. It goes into the water contaner that I put in there, but it won't eat that much. Please help or direct me to someone that will take it. I live in the Bay Area. This monitor needs help imediately. It is about 2 1/2 feet long with the missing half tail.

dont know who will take it but you could feed it cat food and dog food to let it gain weight.it is a shame to have found one of these great animals in an alley as I love them.I have on about 3 ft long I believe and very tame.If you want to have someone adopt then go to mice on ice adoption forum or you could become a member of the allspeciesreptileadoption group on yahoo and post it there many people are in that group including me.hope this helps.
