suboc that forgot to read the field guid

these are pics of my second snake ever. my first is a wc western terestrial garter. lets just say that this guy is a handful. will not strike at a f/t mouse for anything but when i tried to get it out of it;s feed box it really tried to give a good nip. also this snake hates cameras as you will see in the photos. i was holding it and as soon as the camera turned on the snake went tense and s curled. rarely looked away from the camera then when i was done it made sure the camera was safely away. kinda weird behavior but it must sence the emf's from the camera. such a beauty i hope it calms down. hope you enjoy the pics.

I've heard that subocs sometimes have learning disabilities that can prevent them from reading important materials such as field guides and operator manuals. You should have his eyes checked in case he needs glasses. Dyslexia, ADD, and ADHD could also be likely causes. I would say that RLS (restless leg syndrome) could be a possible cause, but that would just be ridiculous.

thanks for the input. your diagnosis makes sense. i've left the litterature in the cage for it to read and it still doesn't get any nicer. any suggestions of a herp optimologist here in the Denver area?
