It hasn't really hatched in this photo. THe egg has just been cut, right? Is it possible (given that we have not seen any recent pictures) that the snake is not as special as originally thought. Color is the last thing to come in on snakes, so itis possible this was cut prematurely.
Hope it is alive and well and I look forward to seeing some updated photos.
