Mostly ON/T and a few OFF/T pics.....DUW

rainbowsrus Jun 03, 2008 02:16 PM

Took a boatload of freshly shed pics over the last week or so and here are some highlights......

Half of the 2007 pearls shed...
Biwa,

Pearl,

Akoya,

Baroque,

and Aubergine

Dawn, 2006 hypo produced by EBN

Melanie, 2007 from my Betty x Fred litter.

Amber, 2005, from my Savannah x Porky litter. Patience has paid off with this one. She's always been a small prey eater, never would eat "proper" sized prey item until recently. That held her growth back so was not at breeding size this year. She's just now approaching 1 KG. BUT, lately she has been pounding good sized rats and looks like she's hitting a growth spurt. WOOHOO!!!!

Gertrude, 2007 from my Bullseye x Tommy litter,

Abby, a 2007 produced by Will Bird

Zoe, a 2007 produced by our own Jess Lose

Bam Bam, 2007 from my Wilma X Fred litter, he's my number one 2007 holdback!

Moon, 2007 from my Savannah x Nathan litter,

And some OT BCI's
A couple of fresh shed Monsters....
Venus, a 2007 Monster Tail Hypo Jungle produced by Jeff Ronne

Dee, also produced by Jeff is a Monster Tail Jungle

Norman, a 2007 Striped Salmon Aby produced by Mike Weitzman,

And a 2008 Pastel Salmon after his second shed from my Candy x Reeses litter,

Very cool snakes. I love the pearls, of course... and those last two BCIs have some neat pink on the tail.

Who can leave out Melanie and Bam Bam?? I want those!!!

ok well the eyes on Biwa are absolutely insane, wonder if eye colour is genetic? cos if it is i will buy everyone of Biwas babies!!!

acutally looking at those pics mine certainly do look a lot alike, even more so than earlier pics of your pearls. The 07s, what month were they produced? just wondering when the sort of colour changed has happened.

mine look like they settled in now, and when got home from work, 3am my time, could see nearly all off them crusing around their tubs. One of the only plusses of working night shifts, i get to see the snakes out when i get home

I hardly ever get to see my BRB out and about. Usually I see him crusing only if I wander down to the living room (where his tank is) in the middle of the night. I feel guilty having to wake him up practically every time I want to take him out (typically early evening---which apparently feels like 4 am to him)!

Yeah, I like the light grey eyes also. Not sure how old they are, I bought them in October of 2007 and they were babies when they arrived. Probably typical August/September time frame babies.

its seems your pearls have changed colour a lot, especially the side circles, from your photos compared to you website it seems Akoya has changed the most, with the circles going from a cream pink, to now where it seems that the scales are just slowly filling in with colour. Has this slowly been happening over sheds? or just a colour change at once? What do you anticipate the circles and the overall colour to change into?

cheers

It has been a slow progression. Not exactly what I would have prefered but it is what it is!! I don't really know how they will end up. My plans are to cross with brighter colored lines and see what happens.

yeah for sure, an adult the same colours as there were when they were young, would be just insane. I guess its a challenge, but one that will take many years. Im realising now, that projects just for colour etc, can be quite short, but the recessive, and pattern/colour crosses, can take many many years!!!

The light comes on.....

Now you're stsarting to understand the higher value placed on recessive and combo morph animals, it's the time and effort required to concentrate so many morph genes into one animal.

The pearl sure have changed. Still pretty tho. Those will be cool as hypos and yellows so you can really see the pattern.

Amber sure is pretty. I've shown Naughty the picture and told her to get busy growing so she can look pretty like that. BTW, she wrapped a coil around an assist fed live pink last week. Good baby.

Those OT snakes are really something. Dee is so pretty, I think I like her even better than your hypos from Jeff. Neat tail on Norman and that's got to be the #6 Candy boy that I like. He's really coming on. You'll have to post new shed pix of #7 when she goes, she's my fave of that litter. Very pretty boas.

Bam Bam and the 2008 Pastel Salmon from your Candy x Reeses litter are the nicest in my opinion, the ones from Jeff are the runners up IMHO.

Bam Bam I need to get me a male like that.
