New Cage...

dodgedakota09 Jun 03, 2008 04:39 PM

I bought what looked to be like a green house looking thing from a guy down the road from my college for 60 bucks. After a month of work and exactly $355.50 the cage is complete. The brunt of the money went to the lights. Those UVB, heat, and night light bulbs are not cheap. Cage includes a vinyl floor, inset pond, inset food dishes, carpeted shelves, PVC tree also carpeted, ect...

WOW. That is an awesome looking cacge you ended up with there. You really did a nice job on it. I am kinda flip-flopping about getting my own iguana. I have an opportunity to get a CB baby from the green iguanas in Florida. I really like the look of the iguanas that are down there. My only concern is of course if I will ultimately have enough space for the beasat when it grows up.

Where did you get your iguana? How have you managed to keep it looking so nice and lime green? Is it what you are feeding it?

I bought my iguana from a breeder in GA, as far as keeping it lime green... All i've done is feed it fresh veggies daily as well as the iguana multi vitamin pellets mixed in... I also spray them daily once with water to help shedding and once with an aloe spray to supposedly enrich the color... idk if it really works but the lizards love to be sprayed... good luck

Well, it seems to be working because your iguana is really nice looking. Where did you get the aloe spray? Or, was it something that you made?

No I purchased it at Petsmart for about 20 bucks... its not much

Do you happen to know what it's called by chance? I looked at our PetSmart here as well as online and I couldn't find it. The only thing even close to it that I could find online was an aloe bath spray for dogs. I'd like to try this on my eventual Water Dragon that I am going to get.
