I came home from work today to find the windows of my motley's cage all steamed up. As I walked closer my heart began to race and I couldn't believe what I found. On day 103 my female motley het for albino gave me the best snake day of my life.

She gave birth to

1 sunglow motley
4 hypo motleys
2 motleys, and 3 normals all 66 % het for albino.
She also had 1 albino, 1 dead albino and 1 slug

I want to thank all of my Nor-Cal friends for their help and support through the years. I know in some ways you are all enjoying this almost as much as I am.

I still can't believe I have a sunglow motley......Yahooooo!!!

I'm still in shock.

This is her first litter.

The strange thing is that she got an abcess about half way through her pregnancy. It was located about two thirds down her body. It was about the size of a quarter. I worked at an animal hospital for 9 years as an animal health technician so I asperated the abcess myself. A few weeks later she went through a mid term shed and the area looked great.

Yes I am very proud of her. she looks very healthy and ready to eat.

I know you've been waiting and waiting on this one, I've had to listen to you for months on the subject (loved every minute of it).

Looks like you came out almost dead on perfect genetically. Looking at each of the three traits with a litter of 12...

Motley - punnet = 6, actual = 7 (+ 1)
Hypo - Punnet = 6, actual = 5 (- 1)
Albino - Punnet = 3, actual = 3 (dead on)

You know I'll be over sometime soon to check them out!!!!!!

I was beginning to wonder if that female didnt have a litter! She looked pretty ripe in the pics you put up months ago and you havn't mentioned her since. HUGE congrats! You got your sunglow motley and you killed the odds on the rest. Now if you strike out in the future you dont have to say "atleast theres next year", You can say atleast there was last year!
