How2Modify Aquarium to be escape proof?

jesterx626 Jun 03, 2008 10:43 PM

I have a spare 50 gal meant for aquarium use, with hinged glass lids.

How can I modify my tank to be escape-proof for a ball python?

Have you tried cage clips?

There may be a way to attach the clips to the plastic lip on the sides--- and set the other side of the hook ontop of the glass-- holding it down--

OR---

I went out to lowes and found some big flat rocks--- I painted them with lizards--- i also found a round one and painted a honduran on it-- all coiled up--- looks cute-- and I just set those on top of a lid I had that I couldn't lock down-- worked great.

build a wooden frame on the top end of the tank. silicone this frame to the glass. then make a hinged lid so you can open and close the tank........too easy.

works.....

buy or make a screened lid......if it's too open you can then lay a sheet of plexiglass or plastic over the top to make it less "airy"....yet still secure...

they sell lids for tanks......some are "adjustable" types.be careful with them...they aren't that secure.
