hey i was just checking out your site and looking at the cage pictures and was wondering and i liked how the twin cage looked and it would probably be easier for me to do something like that for my jackson's pair but i was wondering do you use something so that the chameleons don't see eachother if so what is it and if not do they get stressed at all from being withing eyesite thanks alot.

Hi,
We started building the "twin cages" for pairs. Many folks want a pair of chameleons (including us of course), and don't want them to see each other - hence the divider. In most, we use peg board, but hubby just finished building 8 with 1/4" screen in between for a breeder who will place females in them. Usually there isn't much hassel if the females see each other.

We use these twin cages for our jacksons and deremensis too. If you build them 4ft wide x 3ft high x 18" front to back, and have a solid wood bottom, you can use the Sterilite tubs in the bottoms.

Hope this helps,

you know...sometimes I feel like such a dumb@$$. Instead of scrambling to find a catch basin to fit my cage like a glove, next time I will just build my cage to fit my catch basin....thanks Morgana

Matt,

It is the smartest thing - and exactly what we started doing. Those nice Sterilite tubs fit a 18 x 24 bottom very nicely.

Happy building...
