U.S. locale scalaris

In the thread below it was questioned what happened to some of the scalaris in the US, I have localities from France and Spain and gravid females from both localities. They are great animals and are similar to Pituophis in appearance and behavior.

Adult with some juvinile pattern remaining.

This is a Spanish locale hatchling from last year, it was a nice yellow animal.

THAT is good news. All too often species disappear after few years and newer get back. Scalaris is protected all ower its distribution, and no more legal bloodlines will come. They are very rare here amongst herpers. Actually few people in Europe work with European snakes. "Back yard" animals isn`t so interesting as the foreign stuff.
