Update to "I think she slugged out"

Beaker30 Jun 04, 2008 03:20 PM

My clutch of 9 from my green thayeri pairing were definitely all slugs. All have gone bad and molded over in the incubator. Onward to next year when I will try the same green pairing again. Maybe with a year's experience both the animals and I will get it done right.

Craig,

Don't worry its a very common thing. In all honesty it really takes about 3-4 years before a female will really come into her prime. Sometimes males do a bit better. Next year will be better. Probably less than 10 good eggs but a big improvement. After that who know but it does get better. Look at Butterscotch. Shes in her 3rd year breeding. I think she also primed to double clutch this year too.
