cage cleaners

Hello all,
I have a 7 year old male rhino and a 6 year old female.
The female eats anything you put in front of her, But my male has really slowed down his feeding. He will eat fruits and veggies, but will only take a few bites of greens. I mix up the greens (collered, turnup, kale etc.) they live in a huge cage with temps around high 80s and 110 basking. I have 2 power sun 150s for basking. I was thinking about running some panacur through them. Any other suggestions??
Thanks Josh

So quick to use drugs... Turn up your heat. your basking is too low. try 130-150. My male goes off feed from time to time, especially during breeding season.

Although 130+ F for a ground temp in the DR is common, Most of the iggys I saw at that time were in the shade. Typically I have found that my rhinos liked(I gave up my collection) to maintain a body skin temp around 98 degrees when active during the day. You can check yours with a temp gun. There needs to be a hotter and a colder area for them to thermoregulate between. Avoid all medications during breeding season.
Sometimes iggies will stop eating geens if they get burned out on them, or their is something in the mix they don't like, and they are not always that good at picking out what that item might be, so they just don't eat any of it. I have seen this with some when mustard greens, or too much kale or spinich is in the mix.
Good Luck

I agree but they need the choice to go that high. I have seen them use it, not all day but the high temps are used, wanted. At 110 ground temp, thats all they get and its not high enough to choose their optimum temp or it takes them all day to get there and they dont eat like they should. Though I didnt get to take temps when in the DR on Little Cayman I did. Most the adults we saw where on a 124-140 degree road, dock or wall heating up, moving on and then coming back. It was way hotter in the DR.
