How many crickets.

Swedish_lizard Sep 01, 2003 07:04 AM

Hi. I have recently purchased a gecko. I thought that we had read everything that is about feeding them. But now I have read a lot of different suggestions about how many crickets I should feed my gecko. Now I feed him 1 cricket every third day, is that to little? He is about 1 year old and have normal size.

Ummm...I don't know where you read that 1 cricket every third day is suffice but it definetly isn't. I throw in a dozen or so every two day and then take out what she doesn't eat. she is the only gecko I have that refuses mealies so she may be different but even my leos on mealies take down 3 a night or so.

No kidding? Hmm, that darn petseller. Luckily we haven't had him that long, only 1 week. Will feed him extra right away. Thanks for quick answer.

try feeding your gecko every other day, as many food items as he will take....my leos usually eat about 10 every other day. if he wants more, give him more. just make sure he doesn't get too fat!!!
