Innacurate Hondo Information?

Dan_W Jun 06, 2008 04:41 AM

I've taking interest in the honduran milksnake, and have been scouring the internet for more information. It seems that some sites offer lots of innacurate information, especially when it comes to the adult size of the snake.

Websites devoted to pets or even snakes typically write something like, "The usual adult size of the honduran milksnake is 2.5 to 3.5 feet, but they occasionally top four feet in total length."

Wouldn't it be atypical to have an adult honduran in the 2.5-3.5' length range, and typically growing over 4' in length?

Dan, we have seen adult Hondurans over 7 feet in length, but we also have some adults that have stayed fairly small. I think 4 to 6 feet is a more accurate range for the average size, with under 4 feet being kind of small and over 6 feet being fairly large.
