snake room done and some OT pics

brick1 Jun 06, 2008 07:16 AM

well below is some pics of the snake room, it finally finished. Might just add in a work desks, and clean it up a bit more. The other half not too happy, as we lost the spare bedroom, did have a bed in there until yesterday, but decided just not enough room Am still trying to fiqure all the electrics out, as there is way to many cables running around. Also the racks with the small tubs on them, will be changed to some kind of proper rack. What i have now works fine, but just the heat mats causing too much trouble with heating the room. The big black cages are only half full, but i had no where else to store them, when i have bigger snakes, i may consider putting in a partition and halfing the size of them, to give me more room. Last 2 pics are off some boas i picked up in czech, got 9 of them, and they will just be sold to help me pay for my other snakes. Must say they pretty cute though, and was happy to have all feeding, much less of a problem than the BRBs!!!

Looking good, like you already figured out, all the wiring can be a nightmare. One thing I do to help is label each cord. I use numbered wire labels at BOTH ends. That and velcro wire wraps. It's a piece of velcro with hook on one side and ;loop on the other. Can be used like a cable tie to bundle wires together but unlike cable ties can be undone and reused over and over.

yeah that not a bad idea, numbering everything. Have had a few scenarios, where i pull out a cable to turn a light off, and it just turns a heat mat off at the other end of the room!!

cheers for the info

And don't forget, BOTH ends so you can look at the "light" know it's #22, then pull plug #22 and have the light go off.
