Hello again.. sort of

jhnscrg Jun 06, 2008 07:29 PM

Oh man, has it been a long time since I posted in these forums & then under my given name.. Matthew Scruggs.
Anyway, I'm back in business with a new ( & the first ratsnake in many much longer years. TOOO Long.) interest. I just adopted a baby Baird's ratsnake. I don't think I'm going to regret it. Anyway, the poor thing was lanquishing at PetCo for months. I finally gave in & got it at reduced price. I DEFINITELY like this snake. I'm getting the bug again. Is there any hope? LOL

Just my hello.
Sincerely,
Matthew

What the heck is your food budget??!!! I'm happy one of my current limbless friends is happy with earthworms!
Still, corrupting me is effort-less. Those with long memories remember I was a charter member of the Venoumus forum as well! <G>

Well, certainly it was the bite of a LARGE python! Maybe you are lucky it wasn't a Retic!

Sincerely,
Matthew

Frank,

I've seen some pretty nasty pics of bites from big Retics. Look like those people tangled with a Pit Bull.
Me, I don't have the room for the Big Guys ANYWAY.

I once saw a pic of Dave Barker's leg...OUCH...

Having kept them for about 20 years the bites where few and far betweeen, but it does happen occassionaly.

Frank,

Yep, that is one that really looked like a nasty dog bite. I've personally had a couple bad dog bites myself & the bruising in Barker's photo sure was deja' vu!
Anyway, back to the Elaphe proper, you or Colubridman have any babies of those Blue beauty snakes. Man I want one of those! Always have.
And is that a Leucistic Linderheim's ( Texas ) Ratsnake? Spectacular animal!

Sincerely,
Matthew

FRoberts Jun 12, 2008 02:03 PM

I do not have any beauty snakes...colubridman has some though.

Yeah those are texas rat snakes...if you look I have a post with some babies from this year that just hatched!!!

They are Very beautiful snakes!!!!

Frank,

I'll say. They look 10 times more beautiful than any albino snake of any species. Its hard to believe how pure the color is on the leucistic!

jhnscrg Jun 08, 2008 09:35 PM

Hah,
I never broke my addiction. Heck, I've been lurking about for years but the newer security measures plus AOL's glitches always proved a headache.
Still, I had stayed away from the Ratsnakes, until NOW...

Sincerely,
Matthew

Matthew
