yes i have!! the tempgun has become a novelty around my house!! but to you question. Umm i have a tall rock in the 40 gallon tank that gets a surface temp of around 125 degrees. i have some smaller rocks in the basking area that are cooler(100-105). the hot side is around 95 dgrees, and the cool side is about 85.Its the same in my smaller 30 gallon tank. ill do it again to check. these are temps i did last week. i check every day and its about the same, and ill check tomorow as well and give you an update. the tempgun is amzing im using it when they are outside in the sun, and it helps alot. Quick fast info. the best.
one problem im having is my lizards keep jumping into the screen top i have and they are cuting their noses. im not sure what to do to stop this. and its taking longer to heal because they keep doing it. i was think about bandaging it. but the lizards dont realize what their doing. its a perplexing problem. thats one reason why ive been putting them outside every chance i get because atleast they arent jumping into the screen.ive thought about taking the screen off, but then how do i keep them in the tank. ive been putting triple antibiotic on it, but thats useless, because they just go right back to doing it again.very frustrating. my worry is that it will get infected.
i know this has nothing to do with your question but maybe you or someone on here can help me. it doesnt seem that serious, they are eating fine and everything, but now i have two lizards with big scabs on their noses. my only worry is that it can get infected. then again it could have everything to do with your question so thats why i brought it up. they tend to do it after basking, and they do it from the highest point which is the basking spot. so yeah, the temps seem fine, i have a good range and everything. theyve been outside alot so i havent been paying as much attention to the indoor ones.

2.2 collared lizards (Lizzy,Stevie 2,Ike,Adrien)
1.1 firebelly toads
1 baby emperor scorpion (ceasar "caligula" )
( if you know what caligula means you'll get it)
4 dogs (groucho charles bugs Gracie)
You will need a taller cage, simple as that. I know that solution may not be what you want to hear, but you will have to provide the lizards with a cage that will not allow them to jump and reach to top. You will then of course have to readjust your lighting so you can still get the same heating on the rocks that you are seeing now, with the increased distance from top to rocks etc.
I mentioned this back when...

No its not what i want to hear but its something that i have thought about, because i have more lizards now and hey seem crowded in the 40 gallon tank ( i keep 2 adults in there and they dont seem like they get enough room. plus its just better than keeping them in two seperate tanks for 4 lizards. ive seen the type of tank your talking about, nice and tall, but with alot of space. it was an aquarium, but i think i can use it for an enclosure. either that, or i customize, either way im going o have to spend money!!in the mean time how do i get the nose to heal?

tank...if they are busting their nose, you'll want to get them into a different environment and start putting a bit of Neosporin, or triple antibiotic ointment on the wound. It will heal in no time.
If they keep hitting it on the lid, it will be more difficult to treat. Some lizards don't have this problem. I have a wild caught adult male collared that has never been a jumper. He was eating from my hand the day I brought him home. I kept him both inside and outside.
Collareds like to climb, but you could try a hotter buld and no rocks for the time being. They can bask on a flat rock in the basking spot for the time being. If they can hit the screen lid from the bottom without rocks, then I guess it doesn't matter.
Best of luck with the nose(s).
Kind regards,

John, I have one little acrobat that can jump from the floor of the fourty gal, do a flip, grab the screen and hang upside down!
Then he jumps down and I swear he looks me right in the eye and grins! He is also wc, and super tame, but he is a rehab, so we developed a good relationship because I had to care for him. I don't know why he does that, but fortunately, he doesn't bump his face on the screen.
That is hilarious...I am always scared they will burn their feet off. I used to have some red head agamas that would hang under the light...freaked me out!!

the problem is , is that they are jumping too close to the screen and bumping their noses. I think your right maybe i should put some smaller rocks in unitl it heals. its not gonna stop the jumping but atleast they arent going to go full force in the screen and cut their faces!! thanks alot, im going to look into getting the larger enclosure also: an excuse to get more lizards
,LOL!!!
the 2 new ones seem very keen to when i have the tank open, and actully will jump out if i leave it open to long. one was bold enough to do it right while i was in the cage!!! shes eally friendly tho almost like she wanted to say hi!! so yeah im gonna try the smaller rock idea, then get a larger tank as a permanent solution!!
