Hey Ronnie!
No hatchlings, yet. Any day now, though.

My breeders are normals, both are double het (labyrinth/albino). I'll try to take some pics of the parents and last year's holdbacks the next day or so and post 'em.

Catch ya later!

Well, like a father in the maternity ward here I am at 3am checkin' on my hatchlings to see who has come out of their shell.

Most of them had slit their eggs Tuesday night and a few labyrinths & normals were peeking out at the same time. Tonight (Wednesday) several albinos were peeking at the same time but no labyrinths or normals were.

These photos were taken about 8pm Wednesday.

Here's one of the labyrinths in the photo below.

I think this is one of the albino labyrinths, can't remember for sure.

I just finished checking on 'em (3am Thurs.) and one labyrinth, one albino and a few normals were out of their eggs. One of the normals tagged me, the lil' rascal.

There was a labyrinth in an egg on the bottom that died sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday. It had slit its egg and had its nose sticking out. I found it when I decided to go ahead and separate the eggs to make sure they all could get out. I guess I was a tad too late. That hurts.

I looked at the rest of 'em and they all seemed fine. Still in the egg I have 2 albino labyrinths & 6 labyrinths, plus - albinos & normals. 22 total.

I'll try to get some more photos the next day or so.

Catch ya later!

Mike, looks like lottsa pretties. Congrats.

Quig

HappyHillbilly Jun 12, 2008 09:57 PM

Thanks Quig!

I really lucked out on this clutch with 2 albino labyrinths and one of the best lookin' regular labyrinths is a male. Looks good for the two female holdbacks from last year.

I've got an awful lot goin' on but I'm gonna try my best to get some pics within the next few days.

Take care!

LOL, Mike I hear the babies are a BIT nippy. I wanna see all the scars when it's all said and done

Quig

HappyHillbilly Jun 13, 2008 11:34 AM

Nippy? Goodness snakes alive, that's putting it mildly.

It's funny - last year I only had 5 that survived my blunders and only one of them was a striking machine the first time or two I handled it. This year it's reversed; I think there might be 1 out of 22 that [hasn't struck every time I've gotten near it.

My hands look & feel like pin cushions already. Hahaha!

I thought about contacting the Pentagon to see if they're interested in shipping these lil' boogers to Iraq as weapons.

Later!

I think if they were venomous the Pentagon might consider it

A big congrats Mike. Sounds like I was not the only busy one this week. My double het clutch started pipping Tue evening also. I went a head and cut the rest of the eggs Wed. I came out with 11 normals, 5 granite, 1 albino and 1 albino granite dead in the egg. I'll get some pic's up soon.

Oh, that's right, you already posted pics of yours.

I've been so dang busy that I haven't even had time to get a really good look at any of 'em till today, much less enjoy 'em and/or take pics.

Here's a glimpse.

I'll post a few more pics soon.

Catch ya later!
