Greenhouse Temperatures

texasredfoots Sep 01, 2003 10:10 AM

I have four redfoots and I live near Houston, Texas. The weather
is perfect for redfoots 8-9 months a year. During the 3 cooler
months I have been keeping the torts in a 4 by 6 foot plastic
tub in my garage. I am debating on switching to a greenhouse. I
can purchase one that would be 6 by 8 feet. I know this would
hold higher temperatures and humdity than the outside, but how
much more? How about nightime temps? How much warmer would the
geenhouse be? I could also supply supplemental heat and light
if needed, like I would do if they were kept in the garage. Any
insight or personal experiences would be helpful.

I'm not sure about the temperatures, but I know that putting 3 or four rain barrels full of water in a greenhouse will help moderate day and night temperature fluxuations and increase the humidity
