Kayuadi Male

BobGarby Sep 01, 2003 10:10 AM

This is a photo I took yesterday of one of my Kayuadi male retics. He was a hatchling from Winslow Murdoch's first clutch. I bought one pair from each clutch. So far they are growing very slowly. The older ones are approaching 7 months old and might be 3 feet long. Their colors have been getting brighter the past few sheds.

I love the pattern. Great looking snake you have Bob.

Nice to see one of my babies growing up!

I have been putting the food to the moms again the last month as well as trying a little something different. I am supplementing the rats with fish oil capsules to add Omega 3 fats in higher amounts to see if it helps improve productivity.

Hi Winslow,
All four of your babies are doing great. Please keep us updated on the results of your supplement regimen.

see some of your Kayaudi's, and maybe find out some more info on them. If you don't, can you point me to somewhere that has good info? Or are they about the same, husbandry-wise, as regular retics? I have heard good things about you!
Thanks,
Randy Plank

Thanks for asking. I used to have a very detailed website about green tree pythons that are my other passion, but have not had it up for about 18 months due to ongoing cost of having a hobby site.

If you are interested, i could email you some pics concerning my breeding colony, and also suggest you check out the NERD site on retics and retic care. My adult females are still living in 4 ft neodesha cages, but would be better suited in 6ft cages next year. My males are comfortable in 2x2x2 foot arboreal cages that i also use to house my GTPs.

Let me know what specific pics you may want to see. I also have collected all threads of Kayuadi and dwarf retic info so please let me know specifically what info you are interested in.

BTW still five babies that i am holding for an old friend (who is also a doctor) but he has not contacted me in over a month...
