Incubation question

gypsy1dragon Jun 07, 2008 08:31 PM

My local reptile "expert" says that between 73 and 83 degrees is just fine for incubating cornsnake eggs. I have been keeping mine between 75 and 83 degrees. Just trying to verify those temps are good. He breed all kinds of reptiles, including cornsnakes. So far as always given me good advice and will look at any problem issue I have, but those temps sounded a little low for me. Thanks for your help.

I try to stay in the low to mid 80's... i put my incubator at 83 and that way when the temperature outside fluctuates it doesn't mess up the incubator too badly but since its supposed to be 104 degrees here in VA tomorrow, i keep a little fan on my incubator at all times...

That's what I have been doing, not using an incubator, keep temp in that room about76 to 78 degrees, with the tiniest bit of heat added. So far eggs have been holding between 78 to 83. You've had success at these temps? Thanks.
