Thayeri and my first Thayeri eggs

myotismn Jun 08, 2008 10:49 AM

Hello Everyone,
I regularly checkout this forum but have only rarely made any posts. I have met several of you and wanted to post some pics. The last one is my first ever clutch of thayeri eggs. I wanted to get everyones opinion. I got this girl from Mike Bodner a few months ago and mated her with my VR male. She laid 13 eggs this morning. They are a bit smaller than my milksnake eggs that came from females of similar size. For some reason my camera made the eggs look rather sickly yellowish. They are actually pretty white. Looks like there are a few slugs mixed in, but I thought that most of them looked good. What does everyone else think? The other pics are an 07 pair I got from Michelle. I was finally able to get them a little over a month ago due to the terribly cold winter and spring we had here in Minnesota. Michelle, they are still doing great and growing like weeds.

Kevin,

I know they did all the work but, it is great to see ain't it? It looks like you have a mixture of fertile and infertile eggs...Way to go man! By the way, how old are the parents?

That's a nice looking Leonis (middel photo) with the "bow tie" pattern and the "trifoilate" head pattern ("Y"...

Nice photos...

Later,
Jim

Thanks Jim,
I got both parents as adults. The male I bought from Vivid a couple years ago and (without looking it up) he is 6yrs and the female (correct me if I am wrong Mike) is 4. So hopefully they have many breeding years yet to come. I can't wait till the other two pictured grow up.

Kevin,

I certainly hope so as well...

By the way, I see that the 2007 F1 female progeny from Tim's retired adult is sold...Did you acquire her? If so, excellent choice...

Later,
Jim.

and congratulations. I hope most of those hatch out. That Bodner female is nice looking.

Can you post pics of the sire you mated her to?
