brown discoloration on ventral scales

mohbeaverhunter Jun 08, 2008 08:46 PM

my ball has a brown discoloration on his ventral scales more towards the tail, about the last 2/3 of his body. i know it's definitely not part of his pattern, because it all of a sudden appeared. he doesn't seem to mind if i touch it, so it's not painful for him. but it does smell a bit odd, much different from his normal "snakey" smell.

anyone know what this might be?

It is more than likely the beginning of scale rot and can be treated quite simply , with a anti fungal cream mixed half and half with a triple antibiotic cream. Applied twice a day until it is gone and then once a day for another week .if you are insertion of the diagnoses or treatment take it to a vet , if left untreated it will cause scoring and or death . Thanks, David of DS Reptile Rescue , Removal & Rehabilitation
