New eggs

Dave15run Jun 08, 2008 10:12 PM

I have pictures of my first batch of eggs in 25 years. I do not know how to post the pictures. Can Someone help? I want all of you to take a look at the eggs and see what you think. The eggs where waiting when my wife and I returned from the San Antonio Reptile Show. I put them in the waiting Hovabator that I had pre-warmed. I know someone will be able to help. Thanks.

if you are using a hovabator and putting the eggs in containers....you need to use bigger containers and use lids on them.....or the eggs will dry out and die....the small deli cups you are using do not have enough perlite in them to hold moisture properly....

what temp you using?.....82 is all you want....

.......good luck

Thanks for the help. Temp is 83 and I will lower it. I do have bigger deli cups. I appreciate all the advice I can get.

Dave, I actually incubate my eggs on a shelf in my reptile room. The temp there is in the upper 70s to low 80s. I dont think I could that the chance of using in incubator.

Thanks for taking the time to write and for your advice. The first time I tried to incubate reptile eggs was 25 years ago. All my eggs molded. I thought at the time that I did not listen to the advice I was getting. Now almost everyone has told me to use an incubator and I really want to see these eggs hatch. Not only to know that I can but more for the life of the snakes as well.

Once again, thanks for your advice.

My everglades corn laid 21 good eggs Sunday night. It is very exciting to be able to work with them!
