Well all my baby California Kingsnakes have shed. I got some pictures of all of them today, and I thought I'd share.

I just love the white stripe with the little claw on this one's tail. If it was female I may have been tempted to keep it.

This High White male was a suprise to see amongst all the others. Definetely a lot of influence from Daddy in this one!

I really like the rogue black spots on this Banded girl.

Wow, those thing's are gorgeous!!! Nice pictures too. The last banded with the spots is very unique, I've never seen one like that.

Those are neat!

How long after they are born do they shed for the first time??

I like this one too:

Thanks!! They usually shed about a week after hatching. This clutch was right on schedule.

Cool! When they are born, do the look nice and bright like this? Or is it not till after the first shed that you really know what they look like in all their glory?

I think it will be so cool to see them break out of their eggs. I hope next year to get Dexter and Belle together. I have a lot to learn before then, but it is a long way away.

They are dull when they hatch from being in shed. It's that first shed that is most exciting because that is when you get to really see them. Here is a before and after shot of the same snake, so you can see what I mean:

Good luck breeding your pair next year. It sure is a lot of fun to see their little noses poking out of the eggs!

Oh that is exciting! I mean you can see the potential when they are born, you must be really looking forward to seeing that potential realized after the shed though. Really cool, thanks for sharing those. And I do love those little noses breaking the shells. Like little dinosaurs.

Thank you! I figured I'd get a variety of babies from this pair, but I wasn't expecting this much variety! This is so much fun!
