Hi Jess,

Long time, no speak! I seen the same disturbing ad you did. I will e-mail you privately on what i've learned since working on that Canadian issue we spoke about before. It seems, for some reason, that Canada is where the dropping point is for illegally obtained PTS'. From there, it's just a matter of the 'correct' paperwork to get them into the US. ( & it is, believe it or not, thru CITES!) I have a case now of a female PTS with what appears to be metabolic bone disease but before I do the diagnosis myself, she will be at the vets tomorrow morning for confirmation on that. She too came from a group shipped into Canada. I cannot say for certain that the PA group you are referring to came into the US via Canada but I would be willing to bet... In that case, i'm not sure US Fish & Wildlife would be able to help. It's always worth a try though so please let us know what you find out.

Take care,

Sherri

I hope you had good news at the vet.

Best Regards,

For starters try US fish and Wildlife. I am still trying to figure out why your last post on the subject (and my response) was removed??? Was it a violation of terms? Not in my opinion. Was it off topic? I can't see how. I just do not get it... I guess the forum is just for telling each other how cute their skinks are, which is all well and good, but there are some subjects that may be considered controversial that still should be broached also. And, yes that is only my humble opinion.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I really was quite surprised. Ever see that old black and white Twilight Zone episode with the little boy named Andrew, who had the power to make anything happen that he wanted with his mind, and if he felt that someone was thinking "bad thoughts," he would wish them into the corn field, or into the TV. He made his sisters mouth vanish, and turned his uncle into a Jack in the box. His faimly went around terrified with plastic smiles on their faces, saying things like "it is good that you turned your uncle into a Jack in the box. It was very good that you did that." That is the way I feel at this point.

I clipped the ad directly from the classified- I did delete the company name to protect the possible innocent, but the link was still there. Though the link is on my new post as well?

Hi Jessica,

There seems to be a great deal of bulk importing going on. I have seen Many Corucia lately with extensive parasites indicative of very recent importing.

There has been some evidence of a route through West Irian to Malaysia to Europe then Canada and finally, the U.S..

Papua New Guinea Corucia can easily be taken by inland routes to West Irian. With some unusual looking Corucia appearing lately, This may indeed be the case.

Sincerely,
Brian

I just want some clarification. They all kinda look the same to me, but I'm not a PTS person.
