Yeah you would not believe their age if you saw and held them, as solid a 5 year old snake. No even a remote loss of muscle tone or strength. Most litters that play out with dumeril's are with older females and it seems that any females younger then 5 or 6 only drop a few babies for most people.
I am the second owner of the pair. I tried acquiring them in 1989 but couldn't. I finally got them in 2001. Had a rocky seven years with the booze and am out of the funk and breeding again.
If all goes well this year I have bred a species of Boa, Python, and Colubrid. Good start!!!
I had bred a few while I was drinking (luckily) mainly rat snakes, Northern Pine snakes and Brb's. But don't really remember much about it LOL!!!
>>Gravid BRB's can be difficult to ID, many are just like you say, solid and large. The key point for me is they go off feed (for the most part) and quite often actually gain weight. Ultimately losing some before giving birth and losing a LOT giving birth

>>Good luck on those "old" Dum's!!
