Well, this is the best spay experience I've had so far. She started eating solid food from my hand Saturday morning and, although I initially supplemented w/some baby food, she ate a good size plate of solids on her own this morning. I'm still helping her out w/water though. . . just cause it's so hard to keep in her recovery tub (55 gal rubbermaid, w/pillow & towels lining) without spilling.
Both my other girls were eggbound going into their spays. . .so it was a longer recoup period. Especially Shirley, who's the oldest, was the first too eggbind, thus went the longest undetected. Since Lil'Girl went into surgery before going into season this winter (I finially wized up!) both she and my pocketbook are recovering considerably easier this time. I'm betting, the hardest part about this recovery is going to be keeping her from climbing for 6 weeks (although I've still got 4 more antibiotic shots to go and I REALLY hate giving those).
'Nuff for now. . . just wanted to share a successfully spay story. Head bobs to all.
