First boa litter!

FoxExotics Jun 10, 2008 11:59 AM

I've been working with snakes for many years, and most of the boas in my collection have been here since babies. So I am incredibly excited about this - my first successful boa litter!

This is the first one I picked up (the first truly newborn baby boa I ever handled) and look - he(or she!) has a sort of heart-shaped marking on his head.

This is the father, Dante. The litter are Nicaraguan type II anerys and hets. There were a total of 8 babies and 2 slugs. Both parents are real dwarfs - both the male and female are under 5 ft fully grown.
I just had to share, I can't begin to explain my excitement! I've got another 6 female boas who could possibly drop litters for me this year. This was just such a wonderful way to start off my season!

I was looking at your website and I am also the proud owner of a Shiba Inu. They make great pets don't they?

Thank you! My shiba is a bit dysfunctional, but I love him a lot. I'm a sucker for that whole group of dogs.

Congratulations!!! The first boa litter is always the most exciting. Actually, any boa litter is great in my opinion. I only been successfully breeding boas for the past 4 years or so, and I get excited for each litter. There's nothing like playing with a bunch of baby boas.

Good job.
