I've Got Eggs!

Rayandjanice Jun 10, 2008 12:17 PM

Hello,
I previously had two male and two female 3-toed box turtles. Last Fall, my daughter's friend was going away to college and asked me to take her turtle also. This turtle is huge and heavy compared to mine, male I thought, because of the nice coloring and thick base of the tail. Well, I guess I was wrong because I caught her laying eggs last Friday night. This is my first clutch ever, so I dug them up to incubate artificially indoors. She was a pro at digging and then hiding her nest and laid 5 eggs. I have read a lot on this and hopefully have done everything right to ensure a successful hatch. I'm just very excited and wanted to share!

Very nice! good luck with them. Take picts when they start hatching if you happen to witness that, and please share.
