Females in their own tubs during breedin

dacherrypicker Jun 10, 2008 06:20 PM

I lately have noticed my females that I sually house about 3 together were not eating as well as I usually like them to for breeding season. Two days ago I put them all in their own smaler tubs. I fed today and instantly noticed a faster and stronger feeding response. Has anyone else noticed this behavior? Does anyone else do this? Also I have a genetics question. I have a Blizzard(I believe) I purchased her from a local pet store. Dark storm grey color with very light purple head. What would you breed her with.. a SHCTB or a Tremper Albino Carrot Tail 100% het Raptor? And what would be the outcome of both? Thanks in advance and happy herping!

I don't separate my females but they do compete for food whether it be breeding season or not. I would keep them separated to ensure successful breeding. With the genetics, if you breed a blizzard to any tangerine your going to get more tangerines het for blizzard since tangerine is a dominant trait. If you breed the blizzard to the albino you will get blizzards, albinos possibly het for Raptor, and normals depending on the genes of the albino and the blizzard. Since you bought the blizzard from a pet store you cant be sure of what hidden genes it may have so breeding it is the only way to be sure. You never know it may be het for Raptor and you could possibly get a Raptor hatchling, experimenting through breeding the blizzard is the only way to know for sure. Good luck.
