Here are a couple of mine.

this pic, for those interested in methodology, was inserted by using the syntax explained by PHWyvern in the link in her welcoming post. In a couple minutes I'll post another pic, using the "image URL" window that appeared in the earlier forum system and continues to appear in the new system.

what I think is embedded pix, as opposed to using the "select image from photo gallery" at the bottom of the posting page, is that with the second option, people automatically see that you have an image in your post by the little image icon in the title. I guess that if you are good about remembering to put PIX in your title, it really wouldn't matter.

excellent observation. i'm sure we'll continue making "discoveries" for a little while. I like the flexibility of being able to use either or both methods...the more freedom we're given with the tools at hand, the better.

this picture was posted by inserting the URL into the image URL window in the posting form (the previous pic was posted by using the syntax within the text)
So if you put the URL into the "image URL" window the pic appears at the bottom of the post; if you put it in the text of the message using the image syntax it appears wherever that syntax is inserted in the text. Obviously this will make it easy to insert multiple pix in a single post, to have text above and below images, etc. You can access the syntax codes at syntax or by clicking on the "Tools and Toys" link to the right of the message box when you go to make a post.
this snake, by the way, is an 02 hatch, like the ones in my preceding post.

Terry,
Are those that you posted older now? My female used to glow like yours. She seemed to have that waxy glow from within (do you know what I'm saying?) I thought that she may have been hybino because of it but she seems to have out-grown it. She is still a beautiful snake just not as much of a stand out as she was. The question is,, do they all seem to loose the glow?
Thanks.
Joel R.
This was her last spring.

the way that you can "see" inside of them when they are tiny, but as they grow and the skin gets thicker, they become much more solid white. Don't know if it applies, just an observation.

hi joel,

when i get a chance i'll take a pic or two of one or two of those same snakes now 4-5 months older, and we can see how they've changed.
they DO change over time, though, no question: as the skin thickens and becomes more opaque the whites become whiter; then with further age most of the whites turn creamy-white, at least, and some go all the way to yellow. the few adults I have don't SEEM to have lost the glow of the orange, but it's hard to remember how they were, when you watch them weekly as they change.
But for what it's worth, here's a closeup of my tangerine albino male that's been proven at least het/hypo and will be tested these year to see if he's homozygous hypo. He may have changed some since hatching, but he's still got a pretty rich color to him.

thanks.
